At the Grammy Special Merit Awards Diana Ross was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for her role in music. The 67-year-old former leader of The Supremes was joined on stage by her five children and one grandchild, whom she named as her real achievements in life during her acceptance speech.

“I’m very happy, very excited. I look forward to the future — and going into the studio to make new music,” she said in an interview about her award.
