Jason Derulo Makes History On Pop Songs Chart

Jason Derulo accomplishes a first on Billboard’s Pop Songs radio airplay chart, as he becomes the first solo male to notch consecutive No. 1s with his first two entries in the survey’s 17-year history.
Derulo’s “In My Head” rises 3-1 on the tally in its 17th chart week, becoming his second leader. “Whatcha Say” began a four-week reign on the chart dated Nov. 28, 2009.
The songs, both of which he co-wrote, appear on Derulo’s self-titled debut album, which has sold 92,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The 20-year-old Miami-born singer performed his new No. 1 on “American Idol.”
“It started with a dream. I share this honor with my fans and radio,” Derulo tells Billboard.

“Without you, my music wouldn’t reach any further than the confines of my own head! This is only the beginning …”
