LIONSGATE(R) (NYSE: LGF) and Tyler Perry continue to be an unstoppable force in Hollywood as Tyler Perry’s The Family That Preys, starring Academy Award(R) winner Kathy Bates and Academy Award(R) nominee Alfre Woodard, debuted at number one on the DVD charts. Lionsgate also released on DVD Tyler Perry’s The Marriage Counselor: The Play, which debuted #8 on the DVD charts, as well as Tyler Perry’s House of Payne: Volume Three. Lionsgate will release Perry’s next theatrical feature, Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail, based on his most popular play, nationwide on February 20, 2009.

“Tyler Perry is truly one of the most original and successful voices in the entertainment world today,” said Ron Schwartz, Lionsgate Home Entertainment General Manager and Executive Vice President. “He has an enormously loyal following, which continues to grow with each new theatrical and home entertainment release. We are proud to have him as a part of the Lionsgate family and look forward to many more releases based on his works down the road.”
