Future NFL Star Keith Rivers Opens His Couch to Fans

Keith Rivers, the top rated linebacker in the 2008 NFL draft, will become one of the first players ever to share his entire draft day experience online through his blog at Yardbarker.com, it was announced today. Running back Darren McFadden, another Yardbarker athlete blogger, will also be posting video blogs from New York during his draft experience beginning Thursday. Rivers, expected to be a top 15 pick, will be posting video clips, photos and written blogs live from his private draft party in Lake Mary, FL.

He will also be responding to fans comments throughout the process. “Yardbarker has proven to be the place where fans can connect directly with their favorite athletes online, but USC linebacker Keith Rivers will be taking the connection to another level by creating space on his couch for football fans everywhere during his private NFL draft party,” Yardbarker CEO Pete Vlastelica said. “By going to Yardbarker.com fans will get to experience the phone calls and the emotion of this once-in-a-lifetime moment with one of the top players in the draft.”

Rivers, a first team All American and three-year starter at USC, has been posting written and video blogs since the USC Pro Day on April 2. He solidified his status as a top 15 pick by running a 4.50 40 and recording a 42-inch vertical jump. “There is only so much you can control during the draft so I am just enjoying the process,” Rivers said. “I am excited to find out where I will be playing and I am looking forward to sharing this moment with the fans. It’s going to be a fun experience.”
