Republican National Committee Chairman Statement on Black History Month

RNC Chairman Mike Duncan today released the following statement regarding the official start of Black History Month:

Black History Month is a time to celebrate the accomplishments of great Americans like Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman and Martin Luther King Jr. and to look back on all our Nation has accomplished since essential civil rights for all Americans were ensured by law over 40 years ago. It is also a time to recognize that much work remains to be done. We continue to fight so every American has equal access to the limitless opportunities of the American Dream.

“Whether it’s continuing to expand housing opportunities, or working to make sure every parent has the choice of where to send his or her child to school, or removing the roadblocks to small business creation and growth; this Party and this nation will remain dedicated to equality of opportunity for every American.”
