American Urban Radio Networks Hosts SBN Black College All-American Awards

The SBN Sports Network, a division of American Urban Radio Networks (AURN), hosts the 32nd Annual SBN Sports Black College All-American (BCAA) Awards weekend, culminating with the annual awards gala on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta Georgia. The most recent Black College All-American alumni members elected to the NFL Hall of Fame — Harry Carson and Rayfield Wright — along with Hall of Fame inductees Mel Blount and Larry Little, as well as other NFL legends, including Doug Williams, James “Shack” Harris, Robert Brazile, and L. C. Greenwood, among others, will be on hand to celebrate the accomplishments of the top student football players from the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

The annual awards gala will also feature an all-star lineup of entertainment, including Master of Ceremonies, comedian/actor/genius Michael Colyar and international jazz recording artist, Bob Baldwin. The event is co-hosted by AURN’s own Ty Miller, Director of SBN Sports and Anji Corley, host of The Hip Hop Wire.

Awards to be presented during the private event will include the 2005 SBN/Black College All-American Team, the SBN/Jake Gaither Black College Football National Co-Champions (Hampton Pirates and Grambling Tigers), the 2005 SBN/Doug Williams Offensive Player of the Year (Bruce Eugene, quarterback/Grambling State University) and the 2005 SBN/Mel Blount Defensive Player of the Year (Justin Durant, linebacker/Hampton University) and the 2005 SBN/Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year (Joe Taylor/Hampton State University).
