The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir to Release New CD

Featuring the song that inspired more than 90,000 people at Billy Graham’s final crusade in New York City, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir will soon release I’m Amazed on September 27.

Known around the world for their unique sound of uplifting worship songs, the six-time Grammy Award winning choir is joined by Donnie McClurkin, Jason Crabb and Luther Barnes.

With brand new songs that speak about God’s love and forgiveness, I’m Amazed opens with the vibrant Thou, Oh Lord followed by Gloria, an up-tempo tune where the 285 voice choir sings in both Spanish and English, representing the ethnic diversity of the church’s congregation.

“When I explain to people that the choir is diverse, it’s hard for them to understand that because we’re in the heart of New York, the most ethnically diverse city in the world, our members represent almost every ethnic group on earth,” says Carol Cymbala, director of the choir. “They also come from every type of background imaginable,” she explains. “From former homeless people and ex-drug addicts to doctors and lawyers, the choir represents it all. When I think about how God has changed the lives of so many people, the only word I can think of is “amazing!” When I listen to the choir I hear a group of imperfect people from all walks of life worshipping a perfect God,” says Cymbala. “That’s just amazing to me!” she says.

Almost as diverse as the members in the choir is the music featured on I’m Amazed. Weaving together traditional, contemporary Gospel music and praise and worship songs, the music featured on I’m Amazed is as uplifting as inspiring. The title track I’m Amazed, which debuted at this summer’s Billy Graham Crusade, features a powerful solo by Jason Crabb which reminds us of God’s forgiveness and love.

With twelve brand new songs that will bring spiritual encouragement, I’m Amazed is sure to impact all who listen. Available in stores on September 27, I’m Amazed can be pre-ordered at a special discounted price for a limited time at http://www.ImAmazed.org. Proceeds from I’m Amazed benefit the ministries of the Brooklyn Tabernacle’s Downtown Learning Center which provides free literacy training, GED preparation classes, a unique program for abused children (ages 6-12) and a youth center in the heart of the inner-city.
