Usher, Jay Z, and Outkast Clean up At Music Awards

MIAMI: Mtv’s Video Music Awards went off yet again with very few snags. The stars were arrived by both land and sea. The geographic location of Miami’s American Airlines Arena allowed celebrities to pull up to the red carpet in both speed boats and yachts.

Rappers Jay-Z and OutKast walked away with the most MTV Video Music Awards. Jay-Z’s video “99 Problems” won awards for Best Rap Video, Best Direction, Best Editing and Best Cinematography. Atlanta hip hop group OutKast and their video “Hey Ya” garnered a moon man in the categories of Best Video, Best Hip Hop Video, Best Special Effects and Best Art Direction. Usher won awards for Best Male and Best Dance Video. Alicia Keys won an award for Best R&B Video and also suprised the crowd in a stellar performance with the legendary Stevie Wonder. Kanye West pulled an equally suprising performance with singer Chaka Khan during a rap medley of his biggest singles.

This was the first time that MTV Networks took its annual awards show out of New York or Los Angeles. Many celebrities cited Miami as a “second home” since many owned property in the area.
